<p class="MsoNormal">Sándor Ziffer was born on May 3, 1880 in Eger, raised in Újpest. H studied for one year at the Metropolitan Municipal Technical Drawing School and later for five years at the School of Applied Arts. He went to Munich in 1900 and became a student at Simon Hollósy's private school. He first came to Nagybánya in 1906, settled in 1918, and lived there with little or no interruptions until his death in 1962.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">From 1906 he exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Paris, Budapest, Munich, Hamburg, several cities of Transylvania, Romania.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">A large part of his oeuvre for about one and a half thousand paintings has been scattered throughout the world. Outside of Romania, most can be found in Hungary, Germany, Israel and France.</p>
